Alipurduar, a region renowned for its natural beauty and cultural heritage, is taking a bold step with the Duars Run 2025. Organised by the Alipurduar District Police and supported by Dabri Tea, this marathon aims to promote a drug-free society and inspire healthier, addiction-free lifestyles.
More than just a race, the Duars Run is a movement to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and substance abuse. It also stands as the region’s first zero-waste run, symbolising a commitment to our responsibility towards health and the environment.
Scenic landscapes, including its iconic tea gardens, dense forests, beautiful rivers and vibrant tribal traditions, of Alipurduar provide the perfect backdrop for this event. From the lush greenery of the various tea gardens to the cultural richness of communities, the Duars Run offers a unique platform to celebrate the diversity of this beautiful region while running for a cause.
ABOUT ALIPURDUAR
The youngest district of West Bengal, Alipurduar is known for its natural beauty, tea gardens, and rich cultural heritage. Located at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, it is the gateway to the Dooars region, home to wildlife sanctuaries like Buxa Tiger Reserve and Jaldapara National Park.
The name Duars, meaning “doors”, refers to the region as the gateway to Bhutan and the Himalayas. Known for its diversity in tribal culture and stunning landscapes, the Duars is a blend of culture and nature. The Duars Run celebrates this unique confluence, offering participants the chance to run through the heart of this breathtaking region.
THE ROUTE
The Duars Run takes you on an unforgettable journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Duars. Runners will pass through the lush green Dabri tea garden, and the fringes of Rajabhatkhawa and Buxa forest.
